My first symbolic painting: "Wounded"

"Wounded" was my first symbolic painting- a painting that is quite appropriate for Easter. The orchid is a delicate flower, a blessing to mankind, created by the Lord. Yet that same Lord also willingly created brutal thorns, even knowing that one day these same thorns would be used to bring Him great pain and humiliation. Jesus' love, mercy, and sacrifice are the ultimate inspiration to me. He was wounded for my transgressions and rose that I may one day live with Him!
