"The Light Within" now on exhibit at the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club in New York City

09 Jan 2019By Janet

We just finished dropping off "The Light Within" for the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club's 122nd Annual Juried Exhibition at the National Arts Club in Manhattan. As a brief recap, Ms. Lorillard was the only woman among the 106 founders of the Met in New York City. The club was founded in 1896 for the "woman artist", and the Benefit Reception proceeds will go to support the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The details for the exhibition are at the bottom of this post.

The long trip into the Big Apple is well worth it. There is a festivity in the air and we always meet many lovely and talented artists who are also showcasing their artwork in the event. A slideshow highlighting the National Arts Club is below:

The National Arts Club is a private club founded in 1898 – “to stimulate, foster, and promote public interest in the fine arts”. The club is housed in a Victorian Gothic Revival brownstone building at 15 Gramercy Park South. Here, women were offered full membership from the club's inception.
